Title
Sunset through the Fog Seattle Coast
Artist
Bonnie Marie
Medium
Painting - Acrylic/glass Powders On Canvas
Description
I was not happy with my original Seattle skyline it just did not have enough going on and I really wanted to capture the romance the colors conveyed to me so this is what I saw in my mind's eye and I have painted it here. I had to add flowers in the foreground as what is a perfect proposal without flowers? The beauty and majesty of this misty Sunset night with the Sun looking huge and the surf pounding the shores causing huge splashings of water even spraying over the cliffs.
This is acrylic on a black canvas and for the first time, I have gotten the iridescent and glitter acrylic to actually show up somewhat properly! The secret for those artists who want to use the iridescent and glittery acrylics as accents when you photograph the painting lay it against something at a 20 to 25-degree angle with overhead and backlighting and it helps some!

Bonnie, thank you for adding the MAGIC of glittery stardust and flowers to this beauty...such a commemorative piece!...I agree...my formal proposal had the knee bend, a single rose and the most beautiful round flanked with a baguette on each side. (The informal proposal occurred on the front porch on a steamy August 8th, and during our conversation, my guy said,...I love you...Now, we had many conversations about the plasticity of that phrase...in the luv, Luv, LUV GENERATION. when I said, say again?...he asked me to marry him because he couldn’t envision life without...”this”. As soon as I said YES!...he said, well looks like the next person I have to talk to is your dad. My head was in the clouds...and the scent of garden flowers was everywhere ...no Diamond glitters that night except for the star sparkle in our eyes and hearts...thank you for this memory.

Dynamic painting, Bonnie. Good info about photographing paintings with iridescent paints. I used to use them quite often but didn't know how to photograph or copy them. Thanks for that infor. f/l
