Description
Clouds of Change (What has been shall be again) Ecclesiastes 1:9. I grew up in the Las Vegas Valley when there were less than 100 thousand people in all of Clark County. This is more what it looked like then. Wild horses ran free just on the outskirts of town, Bighorn sheep were everywhere! Now you can still see the sheep out of town by Lake Mead on the outskirts of Boulder City. Vegas, Henderson and North Las Vegas have all grown together to a massive city numbering around 3 million people. To me that is sad. Wild horses are long gone, the state has rounded them up and sold them off. There are still a few ways out of town going toward Creech, in the Cold Creek area. I long for those days when these beautiful creatures could run free! It will come with God's new heaven and a new earth where a place called "Sin City" by some will no longer exist. It will all be a part of the SON's green earth! Copyrighted Bonnie Marie

Bonnie...what a beautifully expressed metaphor for Change...especially from what early memories of Nature’s offerings ...were ...and what destruction upon elegance, Beauty, Natural Wonder....has been wrought at the hands of...greed...mislabeled as “progress”. Your work is truly Inspired.

Beautiful painting. I'm sorry the wild horses and the bighorn sheep are diminished in your part of the world. Sad that it is happening all over the world.

Thank you Bunny. This was a favorite of mine to do because Vegas used to be so small when I was growing up and there was a big sheep reserve just out of town you can watch the wild horses run in the fall it was wonderful or in the spring

I agree with the sentiment expressed in your beautiful painting and description. I lived in that area during the early sixties and remember much of what your describe. I was privileged to grow up there in those times. Beautifully done. f/l
