BonnieMarie.for the love of Hydrangeas in the Azores. I spent 2 weeks+ in the Azores Islands of Terceira and Sao Miguel. These amazing islands are all volcanic and were not discovered until the 12th century. These amazing flowers grow wild here everywhere on the islands all 9 of them! They are every color you can imagine and sometimes are all mixed into one plant.1 The kind of minerals found in the soil determines the colors with all minerals all colors are possible or close to it. This is their flower and beloved by all it appears on almost everything! I had so much fun giving them this stained glass looking feal. They have become one of my favorite flowers and are used in wedding bouquets around the world.. Vist these Islands when you get a chance you will find some of the best scenery anywhere, amazing extinct volcanoes, unbelievably beautiful coastlines, many dolphins and whales, warm to hot mineral waters coming from the still-hot lava running far beneath the earth to warm them. You can tour lava tubes, stay at or visit botanical gardens with hot mineral springs coming from the ground that the locals say will keep you young by bathing in them once a week. I believe it I went with my grandson and after ruining my legs and veins by walking all over Tuscany and then the Azores also were so badly swollen and discolored... the swelling and discoloration disappeared after soaking in the springs for a couple of hours! It may truly be the Fountains of Youth! Too bad I could not stay to find out.
