I had a great deal of fun creating the tree and flowers with a wet canvas, wet acrylic used almost like watercolor and salt after and water sprayed on and laid at an angle to dry. It became more like a watercolor with the loose and wet acrylic paint, then I applied this great chrome finish when it was almost dry to make it glow. Though it looks pretty good here it is much better in the original. After the background and tree with flowers were done I came back and traditionally painted the hummingbird in different layers of acrylic. I love hummingbirds they come to our yard summer through fall and they love my flowers. The tree or bush is make believe and often we have wonderful sunsets that light up everything and I wanted to convey that. I live in the Las Vegas Valley and we have lots of palo verde but they have a huge amount of yellow blossoms spring through fall and here is me wishing they came in blue and lavender. Happy Easter...
